Cranberry Barbecued Pork Roast


3lb. pork roast
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup sugar 
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup barbecue sauce


Preheat oven to 350.  Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper.  Put fat side up on a rack in shallow roasting pan.  Bake for 45 minutes.  In saucepan, combine remaining ingredients.  Bring to boil & reduce heat to low.  Cook and stir sauce for 10-12 minutes or until thickened.  Brush sauce over roast, and bake an additional 15-20 minutes, or until roast temperature reads 160 degrees, brushing frequently with sauce.  Let stand 10 minutes before slicing, and serve with remaining sauce.
