TODAY’S QUESTION:  Hot chocolate, hot cider, or hot toddy?  Why?


Here are your answers:

“I’m usually a hot tea girl (I’ve just discovered decaf chai with a little lemon or milk and pure honey – yum!), but if I had to pick between the 3, I’d go with hot chocolate, hands down, and I’m not talking that prepackaged crap you mix with milk that tastes like watered down chocolate milk…I make my own hot chocolate mix. There’s nothing artificial added and you can use milk rather than water. It’s a simple recipe (Rebecca, feel free to post this in your recipes section if you’d like) Mix ingredients in a 3:3:a pinch ratio to make as much or as little as you’d like. 3 Tbsp cocoa powder, 3 Tbsp white sugar, and a pinch of salt. That’s it! I make large batches and store in an air tight container for whenever my son or I want it. Mix as little or as much as you want into a cup of warm milk and feel free to add a splash of your favorite vanilla and some additive free marshmallows (I’ve found our grocery store brand of marshmallow fluff doesn’t have that silly blue dye!) and enjoy!” – Sara @

My own answer:  I like all of the choices, but I’ll take a hot choccy any time of day.  Especially after reading Sara’s answer…I think I’ll try some of that liquid peppermint Stevia in it tomorrow. 😉

    All three are delicious in their own right, but I’d have to go with hot toddy! 🙂
    Though for my little one, he’d pick hot choc. However, he likes the idea more than the actual beverage, I’ve found, and after a couple sips the rest will go to waste. :/ I’ll have to use the recipe from Sara! Then I can make as little as he wants and not have those nasty chemicals in the packaged stuff. When I make a hot choccy for myself, I must admit I’ll often sub coffee (and some cream/milk) for water for a nice hot mocha. 😉
